A Strong Team for Difficult Times
Congratulations to the Conservative team from Derbyshire at Westminster for their strong showing on 6th May! The number of Conservative Members of Parliament for Derbyshire went from one out of eight up to six out of nine at the General Election, building upon our success last year when Conservatives took control of the County Council for the first time in twenty eight years. Council Plan
We worked hard on our Manifesto, achieved broad consensus from partner organisations with the Derbyshire Sustainable Community Strategy and have now put our Council Plan through extensive consultation and a resounding vote of approval at Full Council. Not exactly book of the month as Conservative Council Leader Andrew Lewer said in a recent article, but it is much more readable than most of its kind and provides serious and clear information about how Conservative Derbyshire County Council is delivering for local people. Winning the election was a wonderful moment for Derbyshire Conservatives, but we take our responsibilities over policy seriously and here is further evidence.
